Therapies Offered

DDP – Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy

Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy – this is predominantly a talk therapy for children and young people between 7 years – and 25 years which also involves their parent or care giver as co-therapist in sessions. This modality is especially effective for children who have suffered any developmental trauma, abuse or neglect and also neurodivergent children who have a sensitised nervous system. Parents / carers are involved in most / all sessions and will have preparatory and review sessions on their own without the child present, so that they may also be fully supported through the therapeutic process. Sessions are 50-60 mins in length.

Theroplay

Theraplay – this is a play-based therapy which meets or re-meets the developmental needs of younger children, and is therefore suitable for infants up to the age of 18 years old. This modality also required that the parent is present and participating as co-therapist. This modality is especially effective for children who have suffered any developmental trauma, abuse or neglect and also neurodivergent children who have
a sensitised nervous system. Parents / carers are involved in most / all sessions and will have preparatory and review sessions on their own without the child present, so that they may also be fully supported through the therapeutic process. Sessions are 40-50 mins in length.

NA TouchNeuro Affective Touch Therapy

Neuro Affective Touch Therapy – this is a blending together of talk / psychotherapy and somatic / body work. This approach respects the fact that the body stores trauma and has its own story to tell, as well as the mind, and attempts to integrate the two. This modality is especially effective in healing unresolved developmental trauma, particularly in older teens and adults, through the use of appropriate touch and self-touch. Younger children can also benefit from many aspects of this modality, although a parent or carer would need to be present and the sessions would be modified according to the developmental age of the child. Sessions are 70-80 mins in length.

Yoga Therapy

Therapeutic Yoga – A somatic, movement and breath based approach to processing trauma stored in the body. This modality is ideally suited to adults and is particularly effective in supporting those who suffer PTSD, developmental trauma, and nervous system sensitivity. Sessions are 45-60 mins in length.
